Ravi Shankar Live at Lincoln Center, possibly April of 1989. I was unable to find a listing for the concert.
Partial concert and some incomplete ragas. Ravi explained that they were to play a classical sitar concert, with traditional format that Shankar carries on from his late mentor, Allauddin Khan.
An opening section without meter called the Alap introduces the raga--a predetermined set of pitches and melodic motives--and then develops into a climactic, rhythmic section called the Gat.
