The Band - 1970 November 1st - Syria Mosque - Pittsburgh, PA

The Band were on their US tour to promote their third studio album, Stage Fright, produced by Todd Rundgren.

The Band:

Rick Danko – bass guitar, fiddle, double bass, vocals

Levon Helm – drums, guitar, percussion, vocals

Garth Hudson – organ, electric piano, accordion, tenor saxophone

Richard Manuel – piano, organ, drums, clavinet, vocals

Robbie Robertson – guitar, autoharp

The Syria Mosque was the centerpiece of Pittsburgh's music culture for 75 years, hosting performances by world renowned classical, jazz and rock artists. The Syria Mosque was demolished as a casualty of parking lot madness in 1991. A flurry of protests and lawsuits broke out when the Mosque sale was announced.
